The WCAP took place in Cape Town, South Africa from November 24th to the 28th and was hosted by the South African Society for Animal Science (SASAS). The programme included: the 5th All-Africa Conference on Animal Production and the 42nd Conference of the South African Society for Animal Science.
The theme: New World; Future World examined the scientific progress in livestock production and its effects on the environment, economies and qualities of life. This was a unique opportunity to attend a thought provoking, trend setting, international conference on animal production.
The WCAP meeting is also a good place to meet people from governmental organizations, universities and collaborating companies.
The BIOMIN team was represented by Denis Giraudoux (Regional Director for Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa), Mickael Rouault (Technical Poultry Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Anja Ganner (R&D Project Manager). Mickael Rouault gave an oral presentation about the efficacy of phytogenic feed additives in farm animals. Anja Ganner had a poster presentation on nitric oxygen production of macrophages stimulated with yeast products and an oral presentation on the capability of yeast derivates to bind pathogenic bacteria. Michaela Mohnl (Technical Manager, BIOMIN) sent in a poster about the Evaluation of efficacy of a multi-strain probiotic feed additive in comparison to an antibiotic growth promoter on animal performance.
In addition BIOMIN in cooperation with its South African distributor Addcon had a booth in the commercial exhibition and presented news on BIOMIN’s product portfolio. |
