The Congresso International sobre Uso da levedura na Alimentacao Animal (application of yeast in animal nutrition) organized by the CBNA took place in the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas (IAC), SP, Brazil. It was an international conference; half of the presentations were hold in Portuguese and other half in English. Main topics of the conference were production of both, inactivated and live yeast for different animal species (e.g. pets, poultry, swine, horse and ruminants).
Prof. Henrique Amorim had a very interesting talk about the basic processes technology of live yeasts, inactivated yeasts and yeast derivatives. The conference was quite international with participants from Brazil, from other Latin American countries (e.g. Peru, Argentina) and Europe (Spain, Portugal, France, Austria, Scandinavia, UK, Ireland). There were 17 oral presentations and approx. 30 poster presentations.
BIOMIN and Sanphar were represented by Marco Aurelio, Anja Ganner and Fabio Goldflus. Anja Ganner presented her research about health effects of yeast derivatives as oral- and poster presentations. People from universities, collaborating companies and livestock industry were present, therefore it was a good place for networking and meeting business partners. During the brakes, participants got refreshed with nice traditional Brazilian food and drinks.
